INDIVIDUAL PACKING LIST
YOUR BUCKET LIST!
You may bring one Backpack, one Bucket and Lid, and one Large Black Garbage Bag with sleeping gear. Pack and arrange your personal things in your bucket, bag, and backpack, but that’s your limit! Remember to label your items.
Pack the following:
q ONE 5-GALLON PLASTIC BUCKET & LID. Your bucket and Backpack are your suitcase for your clothes and other items, so don’t bring a suitcase. Your bucket will also be your chair for sitting on the trek, so don’t forget to bring a lid! Bucket cushions add comfort.
CLOTHING LIST (ALL)
q 1 - LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET OR RAIN PONCHO
q 1 - SWEATSHIRTfor warmth
q 1 - PAIR OF PAJAMAS or warm clothing for sleeping
q 5 - PAIR OF SOCKS Long, sturdy socks are recommended. Some suggest knee-high nylons to wear under socks (optional).
q 5 - SETS OF UNDERCLOTHING. One for each day Tuesday – Saturday.
q 1 - PAIR OF BROKEN-IN SHOESto hike in (don’t buy new ones).
q 1 – EXTRA PAIR OF SHOES OR WATER SHOES for river crossing.
q 1 - PAIR OF WORK GLOVESfor pulling handcarts
q 1 - PLASTIC BAG to hold dirty and/or wet clothing.
FOR MEN AND BOYS
q 1 or 2 - PAIR OF LONG PANTS - cotton baggy pants, Dockers good. No denim or Levis & no camouflage. Pants should fit loosely. No Shorts!
q 1 or 2 - LONG SLEEVE, BUTTON UP SHIRTS(light color). No T-Shirts!
q 1 - BELT (or Suspenders) as needed
q 1 - WIDE BRIMMED HAT(required) Straw or Western. No Baseball Hats!
FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS
q 1 to 2 - LONG (MID-CALF LENGTH) SKIRTS. (if too long you may trip while trekking)
q 1 to 2 - LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS OR BLOUSES (cotton is preferred)
q 1 – PAIR OF BLOOMERS to prevent chafing. You could also wear shorts of scrubs underneath. Leggings lead to overheating.
q 1 - APRON - with big pockets if possible – very handy on trek
q 1 - BONNET OR STRAW HAT (required)
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR YOUTH
Youth participating in Youth Conference will receive a T-Shirt when they drop off their packed Bucket, Black Plastic bag with sleeping gear, at the Stake Center on Sunday night, June 30th at 7:00 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your backpack the following morning!
Youth are to wear their Youth Conference T-Shirt and comfortable traveling clothes when they come to the Stake Center on Monday, July 1st at 6:00 a.m. Vans are leaving at 6:15 a.m.
We will begin wearing our Pioneer clothes Tuesday morning!

BRING:
q 1 - ONE LARGE HEAVY DUTY BLACK PLASTIC BAGto hold the following sleeping gear:
q 1 - Sleeping Bag
q 1 - Sleeping Pad (optional, for comfort)
q 1 - Small Pillow
q 1 - BACKPACK to carry clothing and/or personal items in the Bus and while at Camp.
q 1 - STURDY REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE
q 1 - CARABINER- or something to tie water bottle to handcart
q 1 - SMALL FIRST AID KID with band aids and moleskin
q 1 - SMALL FLASHLIGHT and extra batteries
q PERSONAL ITEMS, keep to a minimum. Place items in a labeled zip lock bag or container: toothbrush, toothpaste, Chapstick (with sunscreen), insect repellant (make sure it contains deet), deodorant, lotion, 1 small hand towel, washcloth, soap, wipes, hand sanitizer, comb or brush, sunscreen (SPF 15+), sanitary items (girls) and chaffing powder
q AN OLD COPY OF THE BOOK OF MORMON in a ziplock bag to keep it clean/dry
q ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATION in a Ziploc labeled bag! Youth will give to medical staff for safe keeping.
q IF NEEDED, EYE GLASSES WITH CASE or contacts with solutions and case. Glasses are recommended over contacts because of dust. If bringing contacts, bring an extra pair.
q 1 - SUNGLASSES
q 1 - Watch (optional)
q 1 - SACK LUNCH (for first day)
DO NOT BRING
· Valuables such as jewelry
· Knives (including sheathed knives) guns or other weapons, footballs, or card games, etc.
· Electronics or cell phones for youth (Adults limit use to trek-related communications as much as possible)
· Make-up, perfume, scented lotions, hairspray, aftershave and cologne (bugs love it!)
